07-15-2007 After many months of waiting, the Fireling clutch has finally hatched! The Fireling first stages are due up on July 29th.
The Avengaean Nidus was established several years after the beginning of the Avengaean Bonding Project. Run by a group of half-Avengaean Wylds from Mythicalae, it was intended originally as a residence for offworld dragons and their riders only, but with so many offworld dragons bearing offworld customs, the occurences of flights were inevitable, and it seemed a rather silly idea to send the Nidus's own dragonesses away from home just to lay their clutches.

The structure of the Nidus is a simple two-ringed design, set in a deep valley. Both the outer and the inner circles are three-storied. The inner circle is made up of two layers of housing with a circular hallway between, while the outer, built into the hillside, only contains one layer of housing on the lower parts, with two above. The kitchens, meeting rooms and management are located in a clump on the inner face of the inner circle. In the vast area contained in the center of the doubled circles is a hybrid garden-courtyard and hatching sands with enough room for two dragonesses to clutch at the same time.

Each residential apartment is much the same as any other, and most of them are, at this point, empty. They're intended for dragon-bond pairs under the assumtion that one will be drastically smaller than the other, and accordingly, each apartment area has two "rooms": one massive one with a dragon-sized sleeping area (though draconic bathing facilities are outside the Nidus itself, in a spring-fed artifically dammed lake), and human-sized living quarters either built to one side of the dragon's area - either suspended from the roof with a ladder to get up to it, or simply built into the floor - with an adjoined bathroom.

The Nidus itself is surrounded by thick, jungle-like rainforest, located not far from the coast in Lower Novinitu. The climate is hot and humid, but the rooms are air-conditioned via magic. It is far away from any human, dragon or demon cities, and the only regular visitors by foot are the native daemons.

The Avengaean Nidus is small for now, mostly owing to the small amount of Avengaean riders, but with its recent opening to offworld flights and the continued success of the Avengaean Bonding Porject, the founders hope that it will begin to grow in population and reputation.
